Originally opened in 1967 this formerly private Devlin/Von Hagge Design matured into a classic layout. In May 2001 Hillcrest reopened to rave reviews following a highly successful redesign by Joe Lee. Opened in February 2006, Plantation Preserve is South Florida's Newest Public Golf Facility. Designed by the famed architect firm vonHagge, Smelek & Baril, Plantation Preserve plays to a par 72, 7,148 yards in length and features plush Paspalum grass throughout the golf course and GPS on all golf carts. Jacaranda Golf Club - East ~ 10.79 miles (Not Driving Distance)
Jacaranda Golf Club completed a major renovation project on their two courses over the summers of 2005 and 2006 including installation of new irrigation, cart paths, and Sea Dwarf Paspalum tees and fairways. Well known architect, Bobby Weed, was brought in to basically rebuild both original Mark Mahannah designs from the ground up. Completed in 2005, the East is now over 7200 yards from the tips and features interesting collection areas around the greens. Although long, the course also puts an emphasis on your short game. Heron Bay Golf Club was built for and hosted the PGA TOUR's Honda Classic from 1997 to 2002.
